Breaking Free: How I'm Creating a Life of Freedom and Adventure"

After years of working dead-end jobs and feeling unfulfilled in my personal life, I've decided it's time for a change. At nearly 30 years old, I'm still living at home with my parents and don't have much in the way of savings, but I refuse to let that stop me from pursuing my dreams. I've always been a social person, but lately I've found myself stuck in a rut, spending most of my time at work or at home. I know there's more to life than this, and that's why I'm embarking on a journey to reinvent my life and become a digital nomad. I don't have all the answers yet, but I'm excited to experiment, try new things, and document my successes and failures along the way.

As a history enthusiast, I pursued my academic passion by obtaining a Master's degree in Modern History, with a specialism in Fascism and Communism. During my studies, I delved deep into the life of Archibald Ramsay, a figure tied to British Fascism, and even completed my dissertation on his life and ideology. However, my love for history extends far beyond this particular focus, and I'm always eager to explore new areas of study. In fact, my passion for history plays a huge role in my plans for travel and exploration, as I seek out destinations that offer a rich cultural and historical experience.

Beyond my academic pursuits, I'm a proud self-proclaimed nerd with a love for city breaks, gaming, film and TV. As a fan of the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings franchises, I can often be found re-watching my favourite scenes or delving deep into fan theories. I'm also an avid gamer, with a particular love for RPGs and open-world games that allow me to explore vast virtual landscapes. In addition. When I'm not researching history or planning my next adventure, you'll likely find me immersed on YouTube or re-watching my favourite anime series, such as Hunter x Hunter.

As for my plans, I have a burning desire to explore China and Japan, as well as other parts of East Asia. I also have family in Australia whom I want to visit. Seeing the wonders of the world and experiencing carnival in Brazil are also high on my bucket list. However, I know that embarking on this journey will require some sacrifices, and I am willing to explore different ways of earning money to make it happen. I understand that a more minimalist lifestyle may be necessary, which could be challenging for me. But my biggest hurdles will be learning to being more decisive, and dealing with bouts of homesickness that will inevitably come.

Through this blog, I aim to hold myself accountable and document my journey of self-discovery and adventure, as well as share tips and tricks that I pick up along the way. I hope to inspire and entertain my readers with interesting stories, while also providing practical advice on topics such as budget travel, digital nomadism, and personal growth. From exploring new destinations to trying out new hobbies, I want to encourage my readers to step outside their comfort zones and live their best lives.
